MONDAY - OCTOBER 1 — Sit back, relax, and get ready for 15 great days of fun and adventure. Yes, adventure is exactly what it will be as we explore the Northeast and The Atlantic Provinces and Quebec and Montreal. There is so much in store for you. Our Nova Scotia and Eastern Canada Holiday starts as we leave our home state and travel through the "Buckeye" State of Ohio through a corner of Pennsylvania soon to arrive in New York State, headed to Auburn for a comfortable night’s stay.(D)

TUESDAY - OCTOBER 2 — After a delicious breakfast we'll board our awaiting motorcoach to continue our eastward journey. Just sit back in your comfortable seat and enjoy the beautiful autumn countryside as we travel through New York to Stockbridge, Massachusetts, to the Norman Rockwell Museum, which features one of the largest collections of original artwork along with his studio. Also, we will be enjoying lunch here. Our day continues as we make our way to our night’s lodging in Auburn, Mass. (B) (L) (D)

WEDNESDAY - OCTOBER 3 — After a good night’s rest, our journey continues through New Hampshire into beautiful Maine to Bangor. Our afternoon arrival will give you some free time to explore before dining together. (B) (D)

THURSDAY - OCTOBER 4 — After breakfast we will start our day’s journey and travel to Saint John, New Brunswick. There will be a tour guide waiting to give us an overview city tour including Reversing Falls and the Old City Market. The phenomenon of the Reversing Falls is caused by the tremendous rise and fall of the tides of the Bay of Fundy, which are the highest in the world. The natural southward-facing opening of the Bay of Fundy receives the on rushing ocean tides directly like a funnel. This evening we will enjoy a very delicious dinner. (B) (D)

FRIDAY - OCTOBER 5 — We’ll depart Saint John and travel through scenic Fundy National Park. A stop at Hopewell Rock is on our schedule today. Here, the power of the tides of the Bay of Fundy can be witnessed. Curious rock formations have been sculpted by these massive tides. Our travels continue as we cross the Confederation Bridge to Canada's smallest province, Prince Edward Island. You'll marvel at the patchwork fields and picture-perfect farmhouses enroute to the capital city of Charlottetown, the official birthplace of Canada. We’ll tour the city before heading to our lodging in Cavendish for a two night’s stay. (B)(D)

SATURDAY - OCTOBER 6 — The morning is yours to explore. Take in the sight at Prince Edward Island National Park, renowned for its red sandstone cliffs, fine white sand beaches, and rolling sand dunes. Sample many tasty preserves and take home a souvenir bottle from the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company. This evening we'll savor local cuisine with a tasty lobster dinner. (B) (D)

SUNDAY - OCTOBER 7 — This morning we’ll ferry across the Northumberland Strait to Nova Scotia. Back on land, we’ll continue to Cape Breton, whose most famous resident is Alexander Graham Bell. At the quaint village of Bedeck you’ll visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. From here, we'll check into our accommodations on the shores of the Bras d'Or Lakes for two nights.

MONDAY - OCTOBER 8 — Today we’re off to experience one of the prettiest drives in North America. Named for explorer John Cabot, the Cabot Trail winds around the rocky splendor of Cape Breton's northern shore. Alexander Graham Bell once said, "I have traveled around the globe, but Cape Breton outrivals them all." Always breathtaking, always beautiful, it's an unforgettable drive. Our day wouldn't be complete without a stop in Cheticamp, famous for its hooked crafts and Acadian culture. We’ll visit Les Trois Pignons, a Hooked Rug Interpretation Gallery where the distinctive Cheticamp rug-hooking style is displayed. Cape Breton Highlands National Park is next. As you drive along this ribbon of highway where the mountains meet the sea, have your camera ready for spectacular photos. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in the park. (B) (L) (D)

TUESDAY - OCTOBER 9 — Today we set out to explore Halifax, the capital city of Nova Scotia. During our tour of this historic port city, you will hear stories of Halifax during the war years, including the Halifax Explosion and the city's role in the recovery operations after the Titanic disaster. We will travel along the waterfront through historic downtown, St. Paul's Church, the universities, and the shopping and residential areas. Situated high on a hill overlooking downtown is the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, one of the finest remaining examples of a 19th-century star-shaped fortification, which commemorates the city's role as a key naval station in the British Empire. Amongst the hustle and bustle of a modern city, you will find a rare jewel — the Halifax Public Gardens. A fine example of a formal Victorian public garden, the Gardens are home to many floral displays, mature trees, statues, and fountains. This evening, a special treat is in store as we make our way to the waterfront for a dinner cruise of the beautiful harbor area — a perfect ending to a beautiful day! (B) (D)

WEDNESDAY - OCTOBER 10 — Leaving the bustle of the city behind we will travel to one of the most picturesque fishing villages along the Eastern seaboard — Peggy's Cove! We’ll enjoy breakfast overlooking the lighthouse sitting on top of wave-washed rocks. The tiny harbour below is a masterpiece of seasoned fish sheds and colorful fishing boats, making it one of the most photographed places in Canada. Lunenburg, one of Nova Scotia's most colorful and historic seafaring towns, is our next stop. The extraordinary number of buildings remaining from the 1760s, with the streets still following the original town plan, led the Old Town area to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. We will then travel back to Halifax for some free time this evening to relax and think about the beautiful day we had. (B)

THURSDAY - OCTOBER 11 — Today we will travel through the Annapolis Valley, which runs along the Bay of Fundy. At the Grand Pré National Historic Site we will learn about the expulsion of the French Acadians from "Acadie" in 1755. In addition to the graceful stone church commemorating the deportation, this site also features a statue of "Evangeline," the heroine of Longfellow's epic poem. Then we’ll board a ferry for a 3-hour ride across the Bay of Fundy to Saint John. From here, our travels will continue to Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick for our overnight. (B)

FRIDAY - OCTOBER 12 — This morning we'll bid farewell to our local guide and continue our leisurely drive through the gaping valleys and lush, rolling farmlands to Quebec City. This afternoon, we will meet our guide at the Military Drill Hall close to the Citadelle for our tour of the city. This is the first official French settlement founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain. We will discover the only walled city in North America and the fabulous region of the Province of Quebec's capital and experience the European charm of the first French settlement in North America. The Latin Quarter, the Plains of Abraham, the Ramparts, the world-famous Chateau Frontenac, the National Assembly, Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica, City Hall, the Place Royale, the Citadelle, and a glimpse of modern Quebec City are the perfect introduction to the city. This evening we'll enjoy dinner at a restaurant in Old Quebec prior to arriving at our Quebec City area hotel. (B) (D)

SATURDAY - OCTOBER 13 — This morning we depart for Montreal, where we'll be met by a local guide to explore one of the largest French-speaking cities in the world. Our tour will include Old Montreal — a visit to Notre Dame Basilica, the Port, Jean Drapeau Park (St. Helen's and Notre-Dame Islands), the Botanical Gardens and Olympic Park, the Latin Quarter, Mount Royal Park, St. Joseph's Oratory, the residential areas of Outremont or Westmount, the downtown area, and the Underground City. Arriving at our downtown hotel, you’ll have some free time to explore on our own. Tonight we will attend Le Festin du Gouverneur, a uniquely festive evening of entertainment, dining, and revelry amidst the storied walls of the Fort de l'Île Sainte-Hélène, an historic site on Saint Helen's Island. (B) (D) (B) (D)

SUNDAY - OCTOBER 14 — Our travels today will take us westward, leaving the Province of Quebec and entering the Province of Ontario, enjoying the countryside as we make our way to Kitchener for our lodging and farewell dinner. (B) (D)

MONDAY - OCTOBER 15 — After a hearty breakfast we will continue our trip home, taking with us the many memories and fabulous vistas of the days gone by. (B)
